OUR BIKE HIRE FACILITY IS CLOSED UNTIL MARCH 2023.

We are water babies at heart, but we do love a good bike ride too and it’s a great way to discover all that Dorset has to offer. From quiet country lanes, picturesque villages, seaside towns to stunning viewpoints – this beautiful county is a treasure trove for two-wheeled sightseeing.

Whether you’re up for a day-long mission or just a couple of hours on the saddle, there’s a fantastic selection of long and short distance cycle routes for all abilities.

Our rental bikes are renewed annually, hire prices start at £6 per bike.

Ride to Bournemouth

The Promenade
Average time needed: 30 minutes x 2
Degree or difficulty: Paved cycle trail and no hills.

Flat with no traffic, the Promenade route beats the road every-time!

Simply follow the Promenade until you reach the pier. With sea on one side and beach huts, local ice-cream stands and beach eateries on the other. Perfect for families with young children.

Please note: Cycling is restricted during July & August, to before 10am and after 6pm.

Ride to Poole Quay

Poole Quay & the Old Town
Average time needed: 40 minutes x 2
Degree or difficulty: Road, paved cycle trail and one hill

Make your way along the harbour trail into Poole, spending time to watch the buzzing boats and fishermen on the Quay. Perhaps refuel on ‘fish & chips’ for the return leg.

This route takes you around Poole Harbour through the harbour-side parks, this scenic route includes a hill and short stretch of road riding using cycle lanes.

Ride to Old Harry

Old Harry Rocks & the Banks Arms Pub
Average time needed: 50 minutes x 2
Degree or difficulty: Road, one off-road section, hilly in parts but easily manageable
.

Head west to the chain ferry and hop straight on. After reaching the other side (Shell Bay), head straight along the road for a few miles until you reach the signs for the Bankes Arms Pub. Grab a bite to eat in their garden – great views, total bliss. With fantastic views of Poole Bay and Old Harry Rocks it is perfect to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
